Indian Army's All-Women Crew Sails From Mumbai To Lakshadweep

A group of twelve female officers from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force has finished a historic sailing trip in the Arabian Sea, exhibiting incredible talent, bravery, and resolve. The all-female crew set off from Mumbai and navigated the treacherous waters for almost four weeks as they made their way to and from the gorgeous islands of Lakshadweep. The 27-day voyage was a demanding training ground for the 'Around the World Sailing Competition,' scheduled for September this year.

This trip, which was led by the Army Adventure Wing and the Army Aqua Nodal Centre of the College of Military Engineering, was designed to prepare the female sailors for the arduous adventure that lay ahead as much as to achieve a specific objective.

People throughout the country were proud and took notice of this historic trip, which was officially launched with a flag-raising ceremony at Marve, Mumbai. As the journey went on, people commemorating this momentous occasion in India's military history expressed praise and support for the crew.

The women sailors gained significant experience during the training excursion, which officially ended after almost a month at sea. This experience helped them hone their skills and strengthen their resolve for the challenges ahead. Having completed more than 6000 nautical training miles, these courageous women are ready to leave their mark in the next world circumnavigation competition.

The crew faced numerous difficulties on the four-leg voyage from Mumbai to Lakshadweep, including erratic wind patterns, intense heat, and rough seas. The female sailors showed off their physical prowess, mental fortitude, and unshakable cooperation throughout.

With India preparing to compete in the 'Around the World Sailing Competition,' the success of this all-female crew is evidence of the commitment, aptitude, and trailblazing nature of women in the military. Their story inspires other military women and anyone who aspires to break through obstacles and explore uncharted territory.
