In preparation for the 76th Republic Day, the Indian Army has stepped up security along the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla's Uri Sector. Soldiers are constantly on guard against infiltration attempts, armed with modern weapons, surveillance gadgets, and high-quality equipment.
An Army official stressed that persistent operations and vigilance had resulted in a decline in terrorist activity. "We control the LoC. Despite evolving terrorist infiltration techniques and technology, our training and patrolling keep us ahead," he said, emphasizing year-round readiness and additional security measures for national events such as Republic Day.
In addition to securing the LoC, the Army is actively supporting civilians in border villages by providing medical aid, veterinary care, and other emergency support.
In Kulgam, security personnel have set up Mobile Vehicle Checkpoints (MVCPs) and Nakas along NH-44 near Qazigund to increase security. Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police VK Birdi has affirmed that Srinagar has multi-tier security plans for the Republic Day celebrations.
The Republic Day Parade 2025 will commemorate India's cultural legacy and military power, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay a wreath at the National War Memorial, followed by a ceremonial march past at Kartavya Path with Armed Forces, NCC, and NSS units.
