The Indian Army's Army Service Corps (ASC) Motorcycle Display Team, also known as the Tornadoes, set a Guinness World Record on December 10 by performing three incredible motorcycle feats in commemoration of the 264th Army Service Corps Day.
Subedar Pradeep SS achieved a new world record for the longest backward motorbike ride, an incredible 361.6 kilometres. This accomplishment broke the previous record of 306 kilometres set by Sweden's Magus Carlsson. Pradeep completed the journey from 6.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., averaging 40 km/h on an Enfield Bullet motorcycle.
In addition to his honours, Havildar Manish set a record for the longest hands-free motorcycle wheelie, covering 2.3 kilometres. Meanwhile, Sepoy Sumit Tomar broke the record for the longest no-hands motorcycle wheelie, reaching 1,715.4 meters. Both exploits were accomplished on the Bengaluru-Chennai freeway, demonstrating precision and control.
The Tornadoes worked tirelessly for six months to perfect these acrobatics. Their exploits highlight the Indian Army's extraordinary discipline and determination. The record-breaking action showcases the Tornadoes' ability and establishes a new bar for motorcycle stuntmanship.
