Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir reiterated that the Indian Army is not only responding but responding appropriately to ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC). Despite an increase in cross-border shooting, IED explosions, and sniper strikes by Pakistan, the Indian Army's proactive response is evident.
At a cricket competition launch, Sinha confidently assured reporters at Jammu University, "The Indian Army, with its full capability, is adept at handling any situation and is responding robustly to Pakistan's provocations." He stressed that the security forces have been directed to eradicate the terror environment by intensifying their anti-terror operations.
Sinha presided over two high-level security assessment meetings in Srinagar and Jammu after the unfortunate deaths of Captain Karamjit Singh Bakshi and Naik Mukesh Singh Manhas in an IED attack near the Line of Control in Akhnoor on February 11. Notably, Omar Abdullah, the former chief minister, was left out.
On February 13, the Indian Army severely wounded Pakistani forces in Krishna Ghati in reprisal for their breach of the ceasefire in the Bhimber Gali area. According to intelligence sources, Pakistan is aggressively using explosives and cross-border shooting to undermine the peace along the Line of Control.
