Defence Forces Shine at Snow Marathon in Himachal

The fourth edition of the world's highest and Asia's only Snow Marathon was completed successfully at Sissu, near the north entrance of the Atal Tunnel, at an elevation of roughly 10,500 feet in Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul-Spiti district.

The armed forces delivered outstanding results, with Naik Het Ram of the Dogra Scout Regiment (Indian Army) winning the 42 km full marathon.

He finished the difficult race in an astounding 4 hours and 15 minutes. Tamchor of the Ladakh Scouts and OP Saran of the Indian Air Force finished second and third, respectively. Tenzin Dolma, the reigning women's champion, successfully defended her title with a time of 4 hours and 46 minutes.

The Himachal tourism department, district administration, and sponsors, including Bisleri, Tiger Balm, Campus Shoes, Bon, Fast & Up, and Red Bull, all contributed to the marathon's success.

The event included several divisions, including a 21-kilometer half marathon in which Nangdan won the men's race and Natasha Mehar won the women's. Stmazin won the men's 10-kilometre race, while Nidhi Jha dominated the women's category.

247 runners participated, including members of the Indian Army, Air Force, ITBP, SSB, and BRO. The event demonstrated endurance, resilience, and a sense of adventure amid severe conditions.
