On January 22, Assam Rifles successfully intercepted a drug cargo in the General Area of Salbagan, West Tripura, seizing 60,000 Yaba tablets worth roughly ₹12 crore in the international market.
Kanai Das (36) and Kishan Kumar Sarkar (32) were detained for their alleged roles as key operatives in the smuggling operation and sent over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for further investigation.

Between January 11 and January 14, the forces seized 12 firearms, including carbine machine guns, AK rifles, handguns, grenades, and other military supplies, from the Thoubal, Kangpokpi, Churchandpur, and Tengnoupal districts.
