Army establishes computer lab, skill development centre in Manipur

The Indian Army has strengthened its commitment to community empowerment by opening a contemporary computer lab at the PK Shedu Revival Foundation Children's Home in Kathiku Karong village and a Skill Development Centre in Taphou Pudunamei hamlet, both in Manipur's Senapati district.

These projects were introduced as part of Operation Sadbhavana, which aims to promote goodwill and development in local communities. The computer lab is outfitted with seven computers, a printer, and a projector, giving much-needed technology support to the orphanage's children and improving their educational chances.

Army leaders and local village chiefs, along with the entire community, attended the inaugural ceremony, praising the Army's ongoing efforts to improve the region.

Furthermore, the newly established Skill Development Centre in Taphou Pudunamei hamlet primarily aims to empower local women, notably widows and Veer Naris.

The centre, equipped with 15 sewing machines, three embroidery machines, and other necessary equipment, provides stitching and embroidery training. This effort is a stepping stone for women to develop essential skills, become self-sufficient, and earn a sustainable living.

These projects demonstrate the Army's commitment to improving people's lives in Manipur.
