Mumbai: Many places in Mumbai received heavy rainfall on Wednesday as the Southwest monsoon arrived earlier. An official from India Meteorological Department said “Southwest monsoon has arrived in the city today, normal arrival date is 10th June every year but it has arrived prior”.
Waterlogging was noted in many areas like Hindmata, Gandhi Market has resulted in traffic diversions on Sion road no24. The IMD observatory station at Santa cruz noted 59.6mm rains(as moderate rain). Moreover a high tide of 4.16 metres is expected to hit the city this morning.
